Runner Up Show Hunter Galloway
Qualifying for Grand Nationals.
She also qualified young 11 yr old
Shauna Chaplin in her rider for GN and took Brianna
Duncan-Coward to 3rd place in her rider.
On Friday 27th Nov I flew to Canberra
to judge the National Capital All Breed Show with 7
other judges from interstate and Sth Africa. I
really enjoyed the time away, meeting the other
judges and seeing different bloodlines.
The highlight was judging the Ridden
Senior Challenge on Sat night under lights! this was
on a points system with 3 independent Judges. There
were a lot of quality horses and interestingly our
judging was all pretty similar in choices.
On Wed 2nd Dec we got a phone call
from Werribee and Frank Bawden that it might be
possible for us to compete at the Nationals in the
SA Team as the second place getter had to withdraw
and as Wynara Touch of Bronze was
in 3rd place and nominated we were eligible! 3/4 an
hour later it was confirmed but we had to move fast
and be there by 11am the next morning!
Dani was in Adelaide as she had work
experience that week so Peter offered to pick her up
while I started packing!
We managed to get on the road and
1.45am after 31/2 hours notice!
We were so excited and worried about
making it on time and trying to think what music to
do to the workout. Lucky Dani had her laptop and we
could download some pieces along the way. It was a
hard drive and I had to pull over quite a few times
to have a rest and stretch but we arrived with
plenty of time at 10am and completed the necessary
paperwork to compete!
Wow we were at the Nationals!
We didn't get time to rest as poor
Holly was not washed or clipped up and hadn't been
worked for a few weeks.
We also had to finalise our music
choice and get a workout organised. We decided on
Walking on Sunshine, Katrina and the Waves.
We had one more problem to overcome.
Dani could not fit into her Hunter jacket with her
broken wrist so luckily Leanne Donahue had one that
did fit although a little big in some places it had
to do!
Holly worked really well, she really
is a superstar and takes everything in her stride.
It was a very proud moment to watch them! I don't
think you could have dragged any other pony in the
middle of the night at such short notice and have
her perform so well.
Thankyou to Shelley and Tess Hughes,
Kelly and Val Probert, Gail Manning, Leanne and
Helen Donahue and Frank Bawden and my wonderful
husband Peter for making it all happen and the
wonderful support.
We also got the chance to see the
stunning DP Exclusive (formally
Wynara Olympian) owned by Rose McEnvoy while at the
Nationals competing in the Small Hack class. Buddy
looked and worked superbly and was every bit a
National contender with the best of them. Cant wait
to see him with another year under his belt! It was
lovely to meet the McEnvoys and fill them in on
Buddy's history.
Foal news
Nov was a colt month as well as rain!
By Wynara Charisma
Parilla Royal Gift
delivered a black colt to be named Wynara
True Love ( Chandler) He has a cute star
and snip and looks to be able to move every bit as
good as his mum. He will mature 13.2hh. Roxy will be
offered for sale after weaning this foal as we feel
she still has alot to offer as a childs show pony.

credit Brynmor
Kirreway Gemstone
has a leggy chestnut with pretty blaze and 3 white
socks. He is very fine boned and has a elegant
dished face and looks to mature 14.2hh. His name is
Wynara Sweet Memory (Sam) born on
Remembrance day 11/11/09.
We like this cross so much we have
put her back to Charisma hopefully for a filly next
season!

credit Brynmor
Willowcroft Regal Rose
presented a black colt a day before the Twlight
sequel New Moon premiered
so his name is Wynara New Moon
(Jasper). He looks to mature big galloway and can
really cover the ground with his flicky movement.
W. Regal Rose will be AI'd to
NInfield Mink Supreme for an exciting 2010
foal.
Wynara Muffin
has had the most typey bay colt who we just adore by
Royalwood Boy Soprano, he is yet
officially unnamed. He arrived safely Nov 27th the
morning I left for Canberra. Fynn will mature small
pony and just has delight written all over his face!
Muffin will be AI'd to Willowcroft Regal
Emblem.
Fairligth Acres Quail
has had a dinky bay colt by Salient Master
Bronze, full sibling to Wynara Cherub and
Wynara Romeo. He will be named Wynara Bronze
Kiss and Dinky at home. To mature ne 12hh
the perfect lead rein pony!

Wynara Ponies out and about are
Wynara Florentine Supreme Ridden APSB
Feature Show on Nov 28th. Megsy will be making her
way to a new home in Queensland, everyone in SA will
be sad to see her go as she has developed quite a
big fan club here!
Wynara Whispers
has been sold to Amy Miller. Amy took her to her
first show a week after delivery and reports Asha
won her led Pony class from a strong field. They are
looking forward to her being broken in and preparing
her for the 2010 Spring season.
Wynara Sweet Desire
went to her first show since
winning Supreme Led Foal and won Champion Led
Pony. Not bad for a yearling filly!
More exciting news for us and
daughter, 16 yr old Dani Jolly-Blacket
is that she will be travelling to New
Zealand Jan 1st 2010 to ride for Joy and Ian
Ramsay of Aunty Joys Showing
Accessories.
Dani will have the
opportunity to ride at the NZ Nationals and
HOTY!
This is a wonderful
experience and first trip away from home
without us!
Dani will be going to
school at Orewa College and has organised
with her teachers at Karoonda Area School to
do correspondence/open access to be in line
with the SA year 12 schooling.
We are all excited for her
(and also hope I might get a chance to visit
her) but very sad at the same time as I lose
my number one rider and horse breaker.
Dani will be flying back
for the SHC Grand Nationals in Sydney
late March 2010 to compete on Wynara
Touch of Bronze in her Hunter and Rider
class.
Dani attended the EA Young rider
Squad Weekend at Mt Pleasant Dec 12th/13th, It was a
lovely weekend catching up with mums in a relaxed
atmosphere and watching the kids do all the work!
We wish everyone a Safe and Happy
Christmas, and look forward to hearing any news from
Wynara pony owners after the break!

News
Adelaide Royal was a busy time with 4 ponies.
Unfortunately Wynara Touch of Romance was
scratched due to a botched job by a new farrier
which left her lame after straining her tendon.
Our regular farrier has broken his leg and we
wish him a speedy recovery!
Wynara Touch of Bronze placed highly in all her
classes, Holly is such a trooper and so easy to
show with virtually no workdown we are so proud
and lucky to still have her with us after her
colic surgery early in the year.

11.2-12hh class. She also placed 3rd in her RP
led class.
Wynara Valentino placed 2nd in his Saddle Pony
led class and 3rd in the RPSB class.
Chemistry took awhile to settle in her box but
was so well behaved under saddle and needed
little work by the open class. In fact she only
got worked for 10 min in the sand just before
her class!
She
placed 6th in her novice 15-15.2hh ridden by
Lynda Field as it clashed with the Sidesaddle
and then took Dani to 5th in the Rider 16-18yrs
and 2nd in the Pair of Riders with Tess Hughs
and Janevelyn Jazzman.
Foals to arrive in September
Firstly born on the 14th a gorgeous leggy black
colt with a star to mature big pony by Wynara
Charisma out of Kerulen Minx.
On
the 25th we were presented with yet another
black colt by Wynara Valentino out of the black
WB mare Gainsborough Donner Demelza. He has a
striking blaze and looks to mature large
galloway /small hack! He is owned by Natalie
Stuart-Bell.
Sadly our German friend Johanne parted with us
to return to Germany. It has been a lot of fun
having Johanne and we really appreciated her
help and postponing her return so she could stay
for the Royal. I am sure she will be back to
visit again one day.
Murray Bridge Ag Show 27th Sept.
We
took Wynara Butterfly Kisses who won her 2

July/August News
We attended the Working Hunter and Dressage day run by
the SA Welsh RPG on the 16th August with W. Touch of Bronze who
demonstrated the working hunter seminar with Lauren Roberts aboard and
competed in the Dressage with Dani gaining the high point Part Welsh
Trophy.
The weather was unkind when Chemistry's dressage test
started with gale force winds and hail pelting down as she entered the
arena! But she got some encouraging comments and didnt jump out of the
arena on a good note!

Photo Brynmor

Our first foals arrived on the same day the 21st Aug!
Our beautiful mare Regal Romance of Class( Willowcroft
Regal Emblem) produced a classy black filly by Wynara Charisma. To be

March/April News
March was a very busy month qualifying ponies for Adelaide in
the last run of Ag shows for the season.
Angaston Ag show March 1st 2009

her 2 classes under 12hh and Touch of Romance won her two
Galloway classes and went Res Champion Galloway.

small pony championship.
Touch of Romance won
the Heavyweight Galloway in the morning and afternoon and was Res Champ in
both rings.
Celebration placed in
all her classes, Dani was kept busy riding the 3 ponies!
Rising Star SHC 8th March 2009
Touch of Romance had a
great day winning Champion Galloway and a rug! She is really coming along
now even though she looks small against most of the other Galloways! She
also placed 2nd in her Led and 4th in the Novice.
Butterfly Kisses
placed 4th in her Newcomer Led and 2nd in the Ridden Newcomer and 2nd
Leading Rein not bad for a pony only broken in the end of Jan! Dove was also
happy to carry nervous 9 yr old Sarah Bradshaw around the exercise ring in

Celebration placed 2nd
in the Open Newcomer Led and 5th in the NC Ridden. She is a very sweet pony
with nothing much fazing her. After some thought we decided to show her Open
rather than Hunter for this season.
Tanunda Ag Show 14th March 2009
Touch of Romance
worked well and placed 2nd in the Sunsmart Competition qualifying for the
finals at Adelaide Royal. She then went on to win her open and was Champion
Galloway. Her transformation in 3 weeks has been amazing and we are very
pleased with her progress.
Butterfly Kisses also
continued her winning ways and won her 2 classes.
Celebration placed
3rd in her heavyweight and open class.
APSB All Breed Youngstock Show March 15th

Ally also borrowed her for her rider class.
On Sat 28th March I picked up Dani's surprise birthday
present! Chemistry is a 8 yr old T/B mare who has qualified
for Adelaide Royal in her first season. Dani was away for the weekend and
the look on her face when she saw Chemistry was priceless when we went to
feed up Sunday night! She has tried Miley at Rising Star and felt she was a
lovely ride and is looking forward to her Rider classes now!
We have entered 5 ponies for Adelaide Royal so will be kept
very busy! Chemistry for the small Hack, Wynara Touch of Bronze Hunter
Galloway and Wynara Touch of Romance Open Galloway and Butterfly Kisses for
the under 12hh small pony. Wynara Valentino is entered in his breed classes.
April has been a busy month weaning all the foals before my
shoulder surgery on the 14th! We also fitted in branding before then! My
operation has gone well but it is a slow recovery and I have to be careful
not to overdo things especially around the ponies, which is quite
frustrating at times but Johanne and Dani are coping and getting the foals
well handled.
We have entered 4 for the up coming foal show on May the 3rd.
Wynara Sweet Desire
show hunter filly by Salient Master Bronze, Wynara Love Affair
and Mojo by Wynara Charisma and Wynara Miss Prim

if there is any that may interest you.
Waikerie Easter Show 11th April 2009
Wynara Cowboy was
sashed overall Champion Led Pony Well done Marianne and Tarah!
Renmark PC Show April 19th 2009
Although Chemistry is qualified we decided
to give her a test run at Renmark. She does get very attached to her mates
so for this show we took her on her own to get to know her.
She behaved impeccably and won her two classes and went Res
Champion Hack. Dani placed 2nd in her rider and was res Champ rider.
We booked into the Michael Christie School on the 25/26th
April with Chemistry (Miley) and
Touch of Romance (Zali).
Chemistry was unsettled in the indoor by herself but Dani got
some good tips from Michael and it was good to see she settled in the
afternoon when we took her to Pegasus Show for her hack classes. It was
horrible weather but the opportunity to take Miley out with Zali was there
and had to be taken!
Miley worked well and won her class and Zali went Champion
Galloway.
Zali worked well in her lesson the following day, while Miley
stood at the float with companion Harmony(shetland)!

Wynara Chilli and Wynara Emblem
won the progeny Show Hunter Pair, both these ponies are by Salient
Master Bronze and owned by the Griggs Family.
Wynara Butterfly Kisses
won both her classes at her first AG show. This
little pony is a superstar in the making and getting better and better with
each ride!
Celebration
took a little while to settle at her first Ag show and placed 3rd in the
big pony class. Broken in for only a short time, we are also pleased with
her progress.
I apologise for my mistake in Dec news as
it is Ashleigh Schulz that is the proud owner of
Wynara China Doll.
Wynara Moondust
has been sold to Demi Ploenges of Mt Gambier. Dusty will be broken in and be
a future mount for Demi's children. Demi reported he has settled in and they
are extremely happy with his quiet temperament.
Halcyon Summer Rose
( Syon Royal Protrait x Rosedale Promise) has joined
the broodmare team. Kelly amazing survived the terrible bushfires in
Victoria. There were some anxious moments before she arrived here safely
with many thanks to Karen Summers who kindly picked her up after taking a
load of chaff through to the bushfire survivors.
Kelly will be joined to Wynara Charisma
in the new season this year.
Wynara Touch of Bronze
is recovering well from her hospitalisation and surgery from colic. She is
now safely at home after spending 3 weeks at Kangarilla while we were on
holidays and during the extremely hot weather.
While we were on holidays our future
racehorse foal Sassy injured her hind leg severely. Michelle Perry had the
job of attending to her until we got home and we thank Michelle for all the
care and time she spent with the ponies. Sassy is now able to weight bare
but it will be a long road to recovery as the cut was deep and to the bone
and through the tendons.
Unfortunately while she had to be stabled
full time with her dam Little Onyx, our beautiful black
mare showed signs of severe colic during the heat wave and had to be PTS on
Tues 27th Jan. Little Onyx was the dam of Wynara
Crown Jewels, Tiara, Charisma, Primadonna and Idol. She was back in
foal to Valentino and produced some of the best foals by
him. We are deeply saddened by this untimely loss and hope Sassy will follow
on as a great broodmare like her dam in the future .
On Feb 16th we lost another beautiful mare
to colic, one of my first bred out of Miss Chapar, Jollyfield Touch
of Magic.
The drought is certainly taking its toll
and living with the sand is a constant nightmare.
Jan 15th Johanne Benseler arrived to spend
6 months with us from Germany. Johanne stayed with us in 2008 and enjoyed
her time so much she wanted to come back to help with the ponies.
Sadly our Canadian trainee Talon Johnson
returned home in Feb to start her university studies in Vet science. Talon
was a big part of our family and is missed by all.
So far our start to the new year has not
been good. On Thursday 8th January Wynara Touch of Bronze
started colicking, after initial treatment and painkillers there was no
improvement and I decided to take her to Adelaide Morphettville vets
arriving just before midnight.
She was operated on in the early hours
and had a big sand impaction.
Even though she had been on preventative
treatment, with the recent rains she must have been picking at the green
feed and ingested sand in doing so.
Holly came through the surgery and we
visited her the next morning and although groggy she still managed to be
grumpy at the horse next door.
She will stay at Morphettville Equine
Clinic for the rest of next week and then go to recover at Andrew Hunts
property at Kangarilla. The next few days are critical in her recovery
when she starts again on solid feeds.
It will be 6 months at least before she
can be ridden so unfortunately that rules out the Grand Nationals that
we were so looking forward to attending.
Thankyou to all the people who have
contacted me with well wishes I will try and keep you all updated.
