3rd August was our first show back and we
took the two half sisters Wynara Touch of Bronze and
Jollyfields Touch of Magic. Holly won her 2 classes and was
Res Show Hunter.
First show out for Maggie and she took it
all quiet well but was very attached to her little sister! The workouts were
a little bit above her but she put in a good effort.
Our first Foal for the season a Bay colt
by Salient Master Bronze out of Kiabe Fanfare to be named
Wynara Olympic Bronze. We are hoping this colt will be more
up to height going on previous welsh B foals bred out of this mare. It is
her first Welsh B foal for us and she will be bred to Charisma this season
for a RP foal.

Then came our first filly for the season
by our young stallion Wynara Charisma and what a beauty she
is.
She is out of the Palomino mare Springwood
Harlequin.
We are very impressed by Charisma's first
baby who should mature small Galloway. She will be named Wynara
Partygirl and Katie for home!
Cameron Wood of NSW reported that Maddie
(by Syon Splendor) has foaled a bay filly by
Wynara Valentino.
He has also had some success with
Wynara Lyric (Wynara Valentino x Lady Cher) on his first show run
with 6 wins and 4 Res Champion Galloways and Champion RP Newcomer at Penrith
Show
We are looking forward to see more of this
lovely young Galloway!.

Owendale Orange Blossom has been sold in
foal to Salient Master Bronze and has made her way to her new home in
Goulburn NSW with owners Ann and John Caddy.
We attended Gawler Ag Show on a wet and
wild last days of winter with Wynara Touch of Bronze,
Wynara Muffin and Springwood
Dance on the Moon.
Touch of Bronze
won 2 open classes and was Res Champ Galloway. she also won
her Hunter class and was the Champion Overall Hunter of the Day, winning her
a lovely cotton rug donated from Horseland SA.
Muffin
was ridden by Taylor Biggs and got a 2nd and just missed out
on other placings
Springwood Dance on the Moon
won 2 open classes.
Wynara Touch of
Bronze with Dani aboard placed 2nd in the Childs Galloway, then won
her forte the Show Hunter Galloway class and was Reserve Champion Show
Hunter Galloway.
They also placed 4th in the
Grand Slam and 1st in the pair of riders and 7th in the Novice Open
Galloway.
Continuing her success Touch
of Bronze placed 1st in her Led Saddle Pony mare class and 1st and Champion
Led RPSB Show Hunter Mare, winning a beautiful embroidered rug.
Touch of Bronze and
14 yr old Annabelle Macgugan's debut side saddle they placed 2nd in the hack
and Side Saddle Rider class and 5th in the period costume.
With the highs came the lows
with unfortunately and very disappointing for us Wynara Muffin could not
compete due to catching a virus.
Springwood Dance on the Moon
was also scratched due to an injury.
Dani got to ride Dunelm
Sequin the lovely liver chestnut mare of Louisa Smiths
to 6th placing in the Open Pony 13.2-14hh and Edwina Harrison's Springwood
Fairy Prince to 6th placing in the Be Active Pony Grand Slam.
Dani has chosen for the EFA Young Rider
Development squad and enjoyed a lesson with Elisabeth Hunt on
Jollyfields Touch of Magic in the first week of school holidays.
Maggie went really well and we hope to
start her at some early shows.
Dani was busy riding Maggie and Springwood
Dance on the Moon at the Anthony Mountney school run by the SA RP committee
last weekend in July. Wynara Muffin was ably jockied by Taylor Biggs. We all
enjoyed being out and about again!
Sadly Briary China Doll
slipped her foal by Wynara Valentino.
This was a double blow as we lost last
years beautiful filly.
Hopefully we will have better luck with
her next year.

We said sad goodbyes to our new friend
Johanne Benseler who returned to Germany mid June. We enjoyed having Johanne
stay as a guest as much as she enjoyed the opportunity to work and live on
an Australian Farm and pony stud. Hopefully she will be back next year to
work for us! It was nice to have someone appreciate the ponies and fit in
with our family so well. Not that we are a hard bunch to get along with!!
We picked up Wynara Charisma
after 8 weeks at the breakers and we are over the moon with his education
level and sweet temperament. Kelly (Nusbajtel) White has done a wonderful
job and we can't wait to plan the show season with him.
Dani even got to have 2 lessons on him and
is disappointed she won't get to ride him at the shows due to her age!
Wynara Oh My Gosh
has been sold to show home in SA.
Maddie
broodmare in foal to Wynara Valentino has been sold to Cameron Wood NSW who
also is the proud owner of Galloway Wynara Lyric( Wynara Valentino x Lady
Cher) who is about to make his ridden debut this season.
New to Wynara Show Team is
Springwood Dance on the Moon!
Dottie has done very well under saddle and
in hand with Leanne Donahue and we are very proud to have the opportunity
from owner Pam Wilson to campaign this lovely mare!.
Dottie has won at SA HOTY and Champions of
Champions Large Show Hunter Pony. She has been accepted for Adelaide Royal
and entered for Melb Royal along with our Show Hunter galloway Wynara Touch
of Bronze and small pony Wynara Muffin.
Wynara Touch of Bronze
will make her debut ridden side saddle at Adelaide Royal with Victorian
Annabel Macgugan!
Annabel and her mother Libby with our
close friends Zoe and Kate Weston visited for a practise/try out and we are
looking forward to seeing Annabel in her finery at the Royal.
Holly took to the side saddle extremely
well and it looks like it will be a lot of fun! Dani has had a few rides in
the side saddle but she says she has a long way to go before she attempts to
show with it!
We decided to do a
photo/video shoot of Valentino and his sons Charisma and Idol before
they got their winter woolly's.
Big thank yous to
Michelle Perry (photographer/videor), Louisa Smith, Chris and Lesley
Griggs for the use of their beautiful property, Mel for lending the
video camera and Johanne for her help and preparation. New Photos will
be up shortly and links of the videos too!
We are also excited this
month that Charisma has started his saddle education with Kelly
Nusbajtel(White). Kelly reports that he is coming along nicely and has
accepted it all well so far and is very pleased with his attitude.
I am one step further as
my AI equipment arrived last week and I hope to be practising and
training the boys in the near future for fresh/chilled semen collection.
Still a few more things to get organised and built but its getting
there!
At the SA RP committee
Foal and Youngstock show on the 18th May we managed to take 5
youngsters.
They all did us
proud with a hectic schedule with Dani and I leading.
The head turning
Wynara Idol won his colt foal class and was sashed Champion
Colt Foal, this beautiful boy is set to follow his siblings success as
his sister Wynara Primadonna won the youngstock
yearling filly class and was sashed Champion Filly then Supreme Overall
Youngstock, winning the beautiful Mary Pinsent trophy for the 4th year
in a row!
They went on to win the
progeny group for their dam Little Onyx and Wynara Valentino and of
course are full siblings to our colt Wynara Charisma.

Wynara Top Secret

We are now the proud
owners of Jollyfields Touch of Magic (Maggie) thanks to
Marianne and Tarah Macnamee, who in return have taken ownership of
Wynara Cowboy.
Dani is looking forward
to showing Maggie in Hunter classes this season. A big step up as she is
almost 16hh.
Jollyfield's Touch of
Magic photo with Dani 3 yrs old and Maggie as a foal and now Dani 15yrs
and Maggie 12yr old!
Coolavin Lady Flo has
been sold to Leeanne Bailey of Enfield SA.
New to arrive at Wynara
is Dani's old Shetland Woodview Harmony!
Harmony is 18 yrs old and
taught Dani some show ring skills when she was 6 yrs old. Since then she
has been teaching our friend Joe Arthur to ride and has participated in
Barrel Racing and sheep mustering. We are thrilled to have the
opportunity to have Harmony back with us and Phoenix is excited to have
a little pony he can mount himself and enjoyed his first ride out on
her.
Dani(6yrs) aboard Harmony at her first Royal 1999 and Phoenix( 6 yrs)
2008.

Muffin won her Second Champion Newcomer Small Pony Award.

Bronze won Champion Open Show Hunter Galloway and to top it off
went on to win the Supreme Open Show Hunter.
Springwood Harvest
Moon placed 4th in the Newcomer Show Hunter Galloway class

March News
March was a very sad month
for us here at Wynara.
Firstly we said goodbye to
our German Agriventure trainee Mareike Nurnberger who had been with
us for 12 months. Over this time she has
helped break in some youngsters and general training/riding of the ponies
and will be greatly missed.
Before she left we managed to
get to one show Mt Pleasant Ag where she rode Springwood Harvest
Moon to Res Champion Galloway and won her Hunter class.
This was her first ever
experience at showing!
Wynara Muffin
was awarded champion Pony under 12.2hh in both rings after winning
her opens with Dani aboard.
Rivington Neon won his open
under 12hh classes and show hunter Pony class.
We had a dreadful heat wave
here in the middle of March and it took its toll on our dear old mare
Miss Chapar, dam of our 2 beautiful galloways
Wynara Touch of Bronze and Wynara Touch of Romance
and leased hack Jollyfield's Touch of Magic.
Sadly Panda was laid to rest
in the paddock with her favourite companion and stallion Salient Master
Bronze on the 18th March.
She was 25 yrs old and I had
owned her since a 3 yr old and she was my very first show horse winning many
Champions and Supremes and dressage competitions.
I was honoured to own such a
lovely lady and so proud of her fillies that she has left to us.(pic

German Backpacker Johanne
Benseler contacted me through my website to do some work experience on our
farm/stud while on holidays in Australia. after talking to her we invited
her to stay and picked Johanne up from Barmera on Good Friday.
We are really enjoying having
Johanne here and finding another great friend, another good excuse to one
day go overseas and catch up with our extended family/visitors!!
Johanne is pretty impressed
with our Australian Riding Ponies and Welshies.
We travelled to Naracoorte
and Lucindale Ag shows held over 2 days at Naracoorte to make up for EI.
What a fun time we had
camping with good friends Zoe and Kate Weston, Ellie Ballinger and Lyn and
Alley Young.
We took 3 ponies.
Wynara Touch of Bronze won the Be Active grand Slam champion
qualifying for the finals later this year. she also was sashed Champion Show
Hunter over 14hh and won the Prelim Junior dressage and placed 3rd in the
Novice.
Sunday she was 3rd in the
Prelim and =2nd in the Novice.
Wynara Muffin
placed in her classes and Rivington Neon won his classes and was Res
champion Show Hunter Pony.
Wynara Minuet
ridden by Kate Weston won her opens and was Champion show Hunter Pony in the
afternoon classes.

Sadly our happiness from the
weekend turned to grey when we arrived home to find Wynara Shimmer,
4 month old colt with colic. We battled through the night
but it was not meant to be and dear brave little Fergus was put to sleep
Monday afternoon.

In a double blow this week we
found Wynara Regal Kiss down with colic on Thursday morning
April 3rd.
Things were not looking good
and the vets were called during the night and she too tragically had her
life taken way to short. She was definitely a favourite around here and I
will miss her kisses.
She was to be our next
Newcomer under saddle this coming season.
Regal Kiss was half sister to
our beautiful boy Valentino by Willowcroft Regal Emblem out of Fairlight
Acres Quail. She was awarded Supreme RP Youngstock as a yearling in 2006.
It didn't stop there when
Friday I received a phone call to tell me Wynara Alley Cat,
2 yr old filly by Valentino was found dead in her paddock by her owner
Cassie Dykes.
Our thoughts are with you
Cassie in this sad time.
RIP
Miss Chapar (High
Chaperal xPhoebe)
Wynara Shimmer (Wynara
Valentino x Salient Marigold)
Wynara Regal Kiss (Willowcroft
Regal Emblem x Fairlight Acres Quail)
Wynara Alley Cat ( Wynara
Valentino x Tilley Park Cassandra)
Thank to all my friends for their support during
this sad time.

Feb 2008 update
I am very excited to report that I
have completed a course at Glenmormisten College Vic.
and qualified as an AI Equine Technician.
I am looking forward to extending
my services and offering fresh and chilled semen from all 3 stallions.
We hope to be set up over winter ready
for the new season.
Wynara Midnight Serenade
is well on the road to recovery finally after been diagnosed with a tiny
fistula on her hard palate, that has been causing her pneumonia all this
time! The only choice we had was to wean her as it was the milk/sucking
reflex that was causing aspiration into her lungs. She was just turning 3
months old. So far all good and she is out of her stable confinement and
into a small paddock with Wynara Moonlight for company.
